'Cultural Display' (2025)
Henna and Pen on Fabric, 30x40cm
Within my practice, I reflect on my own cultural identity, and the experiences in being mixed-race. This work showcases the feelings and understanding of my own culture, through use of henna, natural dyes, and inspiration derived from English and South Asian textiles. The dupatta style work serves as a metaphor for the way one's identity is always on display, and incorporates words that reflect my feelings (in Urdu).
